The first thing that I find disgruntling about the whole debate of abortions and whether or not they should be legal is that the argument against abortions is predominately being made by people who have such a set list of religious beliefs that they don’t remember that the first amendment(along with the sixth and fourteenth), not only guarantee’s our freedom of speech, religion and like two other things everybody always forgets, (freedom of press and the right to peaceful demonstrations in grievances to our government) but we also have our state and religion SEPARATED(as first stated by the one and only Thomas Jefferson in a letter that he wrote to the Danbury Baptists). S-E-P-A-R-A-T-E-D. This, as stated before, means that government policy should not be influenced by any kind of religion, and the government shouldn't make any laws or conduct any kind of policy that is in favor of one or more religions. That being said, if you try and argue with me that your God has told you that abortion is wrong, murder and therefore all must obey your God, stop now. You have the right to believe whatever YOU want and for,YOU, yourself to practice whatever religion YOU so choose. You don’t like abortions and you don’t agree with people having them? THEN DON’T HAVE ONE. Government and religion are ‘separated’ (lol they aren't really) for a reason, and no one should forget that.
To wrap up my little tirade here, I don’t really believe that anyone is “playing God” more than the people who accuse others of doing so. God may talk to many different people and tell them many different things, but I feel the people who are “playing God” the most, are the ones that are filling his mouth full of things he’s never been quoted to say. By telling people that they are going to hell and will be sent there by their almighty God, don’t even know if what they are sentencing you to is even close to what will actually happen, because there is this neat thing about life. No one knows for 100% fact what is going to happen once you kick the bucket. So, remember the next time you try and instill fear into someone thinking of getting an abortion, for their betterment and potentially for the betterment of the child as well, that Hitler used fear as one of his major tactics to oppress and ultimately to slaughter about 6 million Jewish people. Are we sure we want to go down that road again?
